Save the Date: Immigration Committee “Open House” Thursday, May 18, 7:00 pm Online
As we look back to Passover and Yom Hashoah, the Day of Remembrance, we are again reminded of the importance of the Jewish values of supporting people in need and welcoming strangers Over the past few years the TBH Immigration and Refugee Task Force has accomplished great things, including offering sanctuary to a mother and her child who we continue to support. The immigration group is now at a crossroads. New members and those just interested are needed to provide ideas for our next steps and to continue this important work. With that in mind we would love you to join us via Zoom on May 18th at 7:00pm. Come to hear what has been accomplished and suggestions for things that we could focus on. Most importantly come with your ideas for projects you would like to help TBH to pursue. Register here>>

Storytelling Shabbat Friday, May 26, 7:00 pm Online
The last “Telling our TBH Story” for the season will be on Friday May 24, 2023. Each one of us has stories we tell ourselves about our experiences. In sharing stories we create connections and in listening we open ourselves to new perspectives and understanding. And stories are so much fun.
It will be a zoom service. The theme for storytellers will be “Your Experience with an Event or Occasion at TBH.” Did you hold or attend a celebration at TBH, an event, a movie or a concert, a volunteer event or a party? What about Blintzapooloza or do you remember Deli Days? Whatever the event, large or small, we would love to hear your story. Please contact Nancy Snyder (nancy_snyder@comcast.net) or Leslie Goldstein (lagoldstein@comcast.net or (360) 791-9759) if you would like to share your story. After the stories are told, we have the option to gather in small zoom rooms to reflect on the stories told or share our own.

HFLA Loan Applications April & May
This is the time of year when students and their families learn where their students will be headed to school in the fall. HFLA is preparing to support your student by actively raising funds for the Student Access Fund (SAF) loan, and our scholarship programs.
We also continue to be a resource for individuals who are looking to make-ends-meet, afford transportation and housing, need help paying medical bills, refinancing high-interest debt and student loans.
HFLA is a community resource to help you meet unforeseen expenses and to reduce your debt burden by replacing debt that grows with an HFLA loan that only shrinks.
