COVID POLICY UPDATE: the TBH Board has amended the COVID-19 policy. TBH will follow guidelines established by the Thurston County Department of Health. For all TBH events: Masking is recommended and not required. Vaccination is encouraged. We ask that you do not come to TBH if you are feeling ill or exhibiting symptoms of illness, and that you observe practices to mitigate the spread of germs (sneezing/coughing into elbow, hand sanitation, etc.). Please make careful decisions for your own personal health and safety. The COVID-19 virus and its variants are highly contagious. In-person attendees acknowledge the risk of exposure to the COVID-19 virus, assume all such risk, and Temple Beth Hatfiloh shall not be held liable. Additionally, TBH has indoor air purification measures in place, and for sanctuary services, has created a section that is mask-only.

Registration Open: Understanding Israel with Professor Nancy Koppelman
Israel is the only state in the world with a majority Jewish population, yet there is much we may not know about its complicated history and present-day challenges. Join Professor Nancy Koppelman as she leads us toward a better understanding of Israel and its history, culture, and relationship with its neighbors and with Jews around the world.

Nancy held a three-year appointment as Visiting Research Scholar with the Schusterman Center for Israel Studies at Brandeis University, where she was a faculty fellow in 2019. She is currently a speaker through Humanities Washington talking about Israel, and was previously a speaker in 2014-16 talking about human rights. She is currently teaching a course at Evergreen called “Antisemitism Revisited.” The class will be moderated by Rabbi Goldstein and will include opportunities for questions and discussion.

In our vision, we live in safety, peace and power together. And we welcome the stranger because we have been strangers ourselves.
Since 2017, the Jewish Coalition for Immigrant Justice NW has been a powerful voice for immigrant justice in the Jewish communities statewide, inspiring activism and supporting and moving forward the work of immigrant justice organizations. We build relationships and community in taking our lead from those directly impacted by immigration policy.
As we approach Hanukkah, a time of light, too many of our teens are struggling to maintain their mental wellness in the face of renewed academic and social pressures as the pandemic recedes. Some are finding a way to channel their concerns into positive change for themselves and their communities.
Join Moving Traditions and Dr. Betsy Stone as we examine ways we can support the teens in our lives, shine a light on these pervasive issues, and help our youth find their way.
