A Free Four-Week Online Program from the Institute for Jewish Spirituality and its Partner Organizations

Erev Rosh Hashanah Seder Friday, September 18, 7:00 pm
Rather than a traditional Erev Rosh Hashanah service, we will have a “seder,” an informal yet traditional opportunity to welcome in the holidays together using song and food and prayer, much like a Passover Seder. Available on Zoom and the TBH YouTube Channel.
Rosh Hashanah Morning Service Saturday, September 19, 10:00 am
Traditional Rosh Hashanah morning services featuring the Cantor Corps will be on Zoom and livestreamed on YouTube. (While TBH will not be organizing groups, you are invited to share streaming with a few friends or neighbors as you feel comfortable.) These will also include a Torah service and Rabbi's sermons.
Rosh Hashanah Afternoon Alternative Service Saturday, September 19, 2:00 pm
In the afternoon of Rosh Hashanah, we will have an alternative service on Zoom, using materials prepared by the Reconstructionist Movement, for a thoughtful and interactive engagement with the liturgy and themes of the High Holidays. This service will also include a discussion of the Akedah, the binding of Isaac, with Howard Schwartz.
Rosh Hashanah Day II Youth Programming Sunday, September 20, 10:30 am
New Year at the Pier. Gain a greater understanding of the tradition of tashlikh and how it is a good way to start the new year. Includes a practice tashlikh activity. Please have a coffee filter and washable markers available when you log in.
Rosh Hashanah Day II "Puget Sound the Shofar" Sunday, September 20, afternoon--time determined by site
On Sunday, the second day of Rosh Hashanah, we will gather in a variety of parks along the shore of Budd Bay (masked and socially distant) for tashlikh (the traditional casting of sins) and shofar. Folks will be invited to register for time and location, and Rabbi Seth will visit each location via boat over the course of the day. Site leaders will provide instructions for tashlikh. Pre-registration required** Register Here >>

Submit Your Online Yizkor Book & Al Chet Form
The TBH Yizkor (Memorial Book) will be distributed in person and electronically at Yizkor services, and contains the liturgy of the Memorial Service as well as the names of those whom worshippers wish to remember. Donations for the Yizkor book will be accepted in memory of a loved one. A donation pf $10 per name is suggested. Click on the button below to fill out the online form. Hard copy forms will be included in care packages.
Al Chet submissions are anonymous and will be read at the Yom Kippur Neilah service.
On Mitzvah Morning we come together as a TBH community to help people in need. Some things will be a lot like the past, with modifications for safety. We have some familiar projects for Mitzvah Morning: farming at GRUB, delivering food to the Food Bank Warehouse, and Soup Making. We also have an at home project, making essentials kits for homeless people in Interfaith Works’ shelters. We will have supplies of hygiene items for you to sort into individual bags. You can pick up the supplies when you drop off your food for the food drive. Or you can arrange another time with Marilyn Gisser. Thanks to Camille Kettel for donating the supplies. If you’d like you may purchase supplies for shelter residents. If so, we hope you do that in addition to the food drive, not instead of it. In addition to hygiene items, residents could use pet food and batteries.
This year you need to register in advance to participate. This way we can assure a safe number of participants, send project instructions to participants, and let you know if plans change. Register here>>
Looking forward to seeing you on October 4 at 9:30. We will start the day with Havdalah in the parking lot and virtually. This is a fun and fulfilling morning for all. Contact Marilyn Gisser, gissermarilyn@gmail.com 360-951-5717, with your thoughts and questions
