Teva Sharing Circles Saturday, August 2, 3:00 pm In Person
The word teva is used in the Torah to refer to Noah’s ark as well as the basket that Moses was placed in. Our circle will be a safe and confidential space to express what’s on your hearts and minds, both about our Jewish world and about our wider world so rife with hatred and conflict. At the outset we’ll agree to some basic ground rules to give us structure and safety. Each participant will have an opportunity to speak while holding the talking stick (actually a silver sugar bowl). Evan Ferber and Eliana Stockwell-Ferber will facilitate. They both have training and experience in small group facilitation. No registration is required. Please come, including those of you who’ve come to past teva circles.
Tisha B'Av Online Resources Saturday, August 2 Online
Tisha B’Av (“the ninth of Av”) is a day of mourning in Jewish tradition that marks the historic destruction of the ancient Temples in Jerusalem, as well as other calamities that have befallen the Jewish people. It is traditionally a fast day and a time to reflect broadly on themes that the ancient rabbis connected to this day: communal suffering, interpersonal conflict, and hatred. TBH will not be holding our own Tisha B’Av observance, and people are encouraged to participate in online offerings and resources (this is not exhaustive, but a sampling):

COMING UP AT TBH
Planning for the Future of TBH
For the last 6 months, a TBH strategic planning group has been gathering information about the history of the temple, its existing programs and services, and known challenges that lie ahead. During August and September, a series of community membership meetings will take place both online and at the temple, to inform members about what the strategic planners have come up with so far and to reach out and ask TBH members about their hopes for the future. TBH members should expect to receive in the coming days (through both mail and email) information about these meetings and other ways to engage in this planning effort. If you wish to participate, but are not able to attend upcoming meetings, please contact either Kayla at the front office or President Daniel ( dbenfarber@gmail.com or 360-402-9983) to ask questions, share opinions, or find other ways to be involved.
