Bar Mitzvah Asher Zeitlin Saturday, July 12, 10:00 am Hybrid
Asher is going to be a seventh grader at NOVA Middle school in Olympia. He enjoys collecting vinyl records, playing video games, writing and playing basketball. Asher’s Mitzvah project is to collect food and supplies for animals housed at Joint Animal Services of Thurston County. Joint Animal Services is a non-profit organization that creates a caring environment for animals that are either homeless or rescued while helping to find new families for our community’s homeless pets. The TBH congregation is warmly invited to join Asher, his parents, Erinn and Daniel, as well as his brothers Levi and Jonah, to celebrate this joyous occasion for both the service and lunch to follow.
Hello, I am Asher Zeitlin and for my Bar Mitzvah project I am collecting items for a local animal shelter. I am doing this because animals share our world and should be treated humanely and with respect. Without shelters, many animals wouldn’t have a safe place to live, get the medical care they need or potentially find a home.
I believe as part of my Jewish identity that we have a responsibility to care for all that is around us, including animals. The animals in our community with the greatest need are in our local shelter.
I will be collecting dog/puppy wet/dry food, cat/kitten dry food, toys and treats for cats/dogs, bleach, paper towels and gift cards (Mud Bay, Petsmart, Petco, Walmart, Costco, The Dollar Store, etc.) Please bring them to TBH--there will be a box in the foyer.
Thank you for your generosity.
