Shared Values and Multiple Opinions: Reconstructionist Congregations and the Israel-Hamas War with Rabbi Maurice Harris Sunday, December 17, 2:00pm Online
Reconstructing Judaism’s Israel Affairs Specialist, Rabbi Maurice Harris, has been consulting with many members, staff, and rabbis of congregations across our movement since October 7. In this session, he describes goals widely shared by members of our congregations and presents a framework for understanding different moral and political positions.
While political stances toward the ongoing war may differ, many Reconstructionists nevertheless share the same core values and goals; their differences seem to lie in how they prioritize them or in how they understand different contexts for the current violence.
Rabbi Maurice will also share his thoughts on possible future trajectories for Israelis and Palestinians. His presentation will be followed by a moderated question-and-answer period.
The beliefs and opinions expressed are solely his own and do not necessarily represent formal positions of the Reconstructionist movement. Registration is required for this event. To register for the event, click here.
Books Available
Bob Godwin has generously offered his extensive library to members of the congregation who would like acquire new books for their collections. Please see the two attached documents cataloging his collection-- Judaica & General. For inquiries, email Bob at bobgodwin@outlook.com.
