ForKids Program for 2023-24 School Year Starts Tuesday, October 3, 4:00 pm
Thus far, we have 15 volunteers, but we likely will need more since not everyone is able to show up once a month. Volunteering is meant for adults and children who are of school age and are welcome. Two bat mitzvah females in the past chose the food bank as part of their bat mitzvah, so we do welcome children as well as parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents.
Bernie Friedman, who has been part of the ForKids Program since TBH became the first volunteer faith community beginning about 20 years ago will also be leading this group in working with Ann A-Min Kellogg at the Food Bank. The first date that we will be participating is Tuesday, October 3. While Ann A-Min has indicated that we will be filling bags between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., last year we never stayed two hours that I can recall, and for people who can only stay a short period of time, that is fine as well 6 p.m. goes into the dinner hour, especially for kids. Last year we generally spent one hour a month.
