Shabbat Morning Saturday, March 25 Talmud, 10:00 am Hybrid We will gather in the TBH social hall and online on Zoom! The Talmud is an ancient compendium of Jewish law and lore, and provides the basis upon which biblical interpretation and contemporary Jewish practice rests. Hardly a monolithic document, the Talmud contains investigation and argumentation on all the facets of life. No background required!

Storytelling Shabbat, cont. Friday, March 24, 7:30 pm Online
The pandemic required a creative response from staff, b’nai mitzvah families, program leaders, and all of us. It also opened up new possibilities for including people who are not in the area, or who have difficulty getting to the synagogue.
We’ll have optional breakout rooms where we can share our own experiences, respond to the stories told during the service, or simply listen.

Blintzapalooza Sunday, March 26, 10:00 am - 2:00 pm In Person As Spring approaches and young (and old) folks' fancy turns to, well, blintzes, the Temple Beth Hatfiloh annual festival is still here calling to you.
WHAT: Frozen Bagged Blintzes: dozen $25 / Fruit Topping Container: $5 / Hot Coffee to-go: $1 HOW: Just show up (drive, walk, bike, bus, pogo stick) and purchase on site. No need to order ahead. First come, first served so get there early!
As always, part of the proceeds will go to our partners at Interfaith Works for the extraordinary work they do, but this year we are excited to take part in Quixote Communities' "Adopt a Tiny Home" project.

Grounds Work Party: Save Our Plants! Sunday, April 2, 10:00 am In Person
We are gearing up for a new courtyard and the construction in the coming weeks! With ground breaking to take place shortly, we would like to try to save some of the TBH existing plants for replanting after the main phase of construction is over. We have a very short timeline to get this accomplished, and could use volunteer help. The more hands we have, the more plants can be safely moved to pots. Community Seder Thursday, April 6, 6:00 pm Hybrid Join us as we celebrate the Festival of Freedom together with song and story at the return of our in person Community Seder (we will have Zoom available as well). Seder led by Rabbi Seth Goldstein, with the fully catered meal by Nineveh. Registration is opening to our members first, please make sure to register early, as we are limiting attendance to 100 people. General registration will open next week.
Thurston's Hunger Walk Sunday, May 7, 3:00 pm In Person
TBH is once again supporting Thurston's Hunger Walk, an annual fundraiser to help two local agencies: The Community Kitchen & The Thurston County Food Bank. This year’s walk will take place at Huntamer Park.
Enjoy camaraderie and live music while you walk as little or as much as you like. You can donate through our "team" site. If you prefer, you could make out a check to: Thurston's Hunger Walk and mail it to: Thurston County Food Bank, P.O. Box 11549, Olympia, WA 98508 with "TBH" in the memo line. Remember, give what you can and walk if you want!

Coming Up! Visit to the Holocaust Center in Seattle Thursday, May 18, 11:00 am In Person
We have arranged for a visit by members of the TBH congregation to the Holocaust Center for Humanity in Seattle on May 18th at 11:00.
This is a an opportunity to see the Center and learn their critical role of the Holocaust Center as a regional leader in holocaust education. You can check out their website here: https://www.holocaustcenterseattle.org/visit/plan-your-visit

Clínica de Familia Presentation with Mina Halpern Tuesday, April 4, 7:00 pm
Mina Halpern, daughter of TBH members Beth and Elie Halpern, has been living and working in the Dominican Republic for the past 14 years. She will be giving a brief talk about the model of care of Clínica de Familia, where Mina serves as Executive Director, and how they reach the most vulnerable populations, including people with HIV, in the eastern Dominican Republic. Adrift Between Two Americas Lecture Thursday, April 13, 7:00 pm at Anderson Univesity Center, Tacoma
The Holocaust and Genocide Studies Program invites you to join us for the 2023 Natalie Mayer Holocaust and Genocide Studies Lecture. The speaker will be David Treuer, who grew up on the Leech Lake reservation, the son of an Austrian Jewish Holocaust survivor father, and an Ojibwe Indian tribal court judge mother. Treuer’s talk, Adrift Between Two Americas, springs from a 2022 essay about his parents, published in The New York Times. RSVP here>>
