Bat Mitzvah: Iila Kennelly Saturday, February 18, 10:00 am Hybrid
Please join us in celebrating as Iila Blu Kennelly is called as a Bat Mitzvah. Iila is in 7th grade at Washington Middle School. She stays very active in orchestra, sports, and school clubs. She loves to travel, play games, read books, and try new things. For her mitzvah project, Iila is fundraising for a new solar project that would go on the newer part of the TBH roof. Climate change is an important topic to her and is asking that all gifts be toward this cause. Bat Mitzvah Project: Iila Kennelly
Dear community members!
My name is Iila Kennelly, and this coming month I am having my Bat Mitzvah event. I have been looking forward to it for many years. I really wanted to do a special mitzvah project that would show my love for the community. I have decided that I wanted to help get solar panels on the roof of TBH because climate change is a concern for me. The world can be a better place for the people who come in the future and solar panels are the way to do it.
The good news is that there has been a group at our Temple trying to get solar panels on the roof for quite some time, so they have a lot of good project information started, including how we can get a significant grant for the effort. We have a fundraising goal of $20,000 and anything that you donate will be matched by my parents until our goal is reached. Thank you for reading this and please DONATE NOW!!! My dad and I created a website here with more information: TBH Solar Fundraising Mitzvah Project.
Bat Mitzvah Project: Molly Littauer
Dear TBH community,
My name is Molly Littauer and my Bat Mitzvah is coming up in March. For my Mitzvah project I wanted to do something I would really enjoy and that would benefit others. I have two large dogs and saw an opportunity to help support other animals in need. After contacting various shelters and clinics I decided to partner with the Tacoma and Pierce County Humane Society who were most in need. My goal is to gather donations to benefit animals housed in the shelter system in need of basic comforts and supplies. Many items we are hoping to collect include new or used plastic shopping bags, towels, baby wipes, training pee pads, and nursing bottles. We are also collecting food supplies (unopened and with an expiration no earlier than May 2023) including soft or hard foods and treats. I have set out a box in the entry of the Temple to collect donations, along with a list from the Shelter of requested items. This list is also available online at https://www.thehumanesociety.org/ways-to-give/donate-items/
The donation drive will run through March 11th. Any donation is extremely appreciated!! Thank you for your support, Molly Littauer
