Thurston Climate Mitigation Plan 101 Teach-In Thursday October 13, 7:00 pm
Thurston Youth Climate Coalition (TYCC) will be leading a Thurston Climate Mitigation Plan (TCMP) 101 Teach-in at Temple Beth Hatfiloh on Thursday, Oct. 13. This event will be both an in-person event (seating limited to 100) and a Zoom event, which will also be recorded to make available on Youtube.
Yom Kippur is a little over six weeks before election day. On that day we pray, “But Teshuvah, Tefillah, and Tzedakah avert the severity of the degree.” Though we often think of Tzedakah as “charity,” it actually it means “righteousness .” Writing postcards to infrequent voters in states where voting is difficult IS an act of righteousness. Join other TBH members before the deadline, Friday September 30. Participants get 30 cards with addresses, a script, labels for more voter information, and a little card with a blessing to say before writing them—thanking the Source of All Blessing for an opportunity to mend the world. Be sure to indicate that you are part of TBH Shoferim. RAC (Religious Action Committee of Reform Judaism) is partnering with Reclaim Our Vote, which mailed 9 million cards in 2020; research shows that 1 out of every 4 persons who received a card voted.
