High Holiday Product Donation Drives

During the month of Elul, we turn inward and examine our behaviors over the past year. This introspection can lead us to think of ways to help our neighbors and we can recommit to helping our community. This and next month, TBH Task Forces are focusing on ways to help youth in our community.
The TBH Homelessness Task Force is sponsoring a Clothes for Teens Donation Drive now through Selichot (September 17)
The TBH Homelessness Task Force is sponsoring a clothing drive to benefit Rosie's Place, the youth shelter operated by Community Youth Services in Olympia. Clothing for ages 15-24, particularly hoodies, jeans, and sweatpants, can be dropped off at TBH anytime you are in the building for services, meal pick-up, study sessions, etc. (or arrange a drop off time with the office). There will be a labeled crate in the entry area next to the food bank bin.
The TBH Immigrant and Refugee Task Force is partnering with the Jewish Coalition for Immigrant Justice NW to sponsor a Kids In Need of Defense (KIND) Donation Drive between Rosh Hashanah and Mitzvah Morning (October 9)
Kids In Need of Defense (KIND) works with refugee children who are in this country unaccompanied by an adult, including those separated from their parents at the border. These organizations are conducting a drive to collect items needed for children as they enter school.Learn more here.
You can help these kids by purchasing items and bringing them to TBH between Rosh Hashanah and Mitzvah Morning (September 25-October 9), or by shopping online at their Amazon registry. Items purchased here will be delivered directly to KIND’s office in Seattle.
Items we are focused on collecting at TBH:
Backpacks and duffel bags for teens
Gift cards of various amounts ($5-$50) to Target, Ross, TJ Maxx, Walmart, Safeway, or Fred Meyer
Giftcards can be placed in the TBH mailbox.
If you purchase, or have already purchased, items through the Amazon wish list, please forward your Amazon order email to KIND at jknell@supportkind.org, and specify that you are a TBH member. This will help us track the success of our drive. If you would like a tax donation receipt, specify this in your email as well.
