DONATIONS PLEASE! Celia's Mitzvah Project
Hi, My name is Celia Brockman, and my Bat Mitzvah is an upcoming event here at Temple Beth Hatfiloh. A community service project or “Mitzvah Project” is usually included in a Bat Mitzvah, For my Mitzvah Project, I am focusing on Period Poverty. Period Poverty is when women are experiencing economic stress which results in their not being able to afford the expenses of womens hyigene products. I am creating a donation bin here at the Temple for community members to donate products. I will collect those products and bring them to a local organization where they would be given to women in need. Contributions of any kind including cash donations (checks made out to Thurston County Food Bank, memo: Other Bank), pads or tampons are greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Volunteers Needed for Unity Commons Meals 4th Sunday of the month
The Homelessness Task Force has now prepared two meals for folks residing at the new Interfaith Works Unity Commons Shelter. We are hoping to provide one meal per month as part of our service to the community. To pull this off, we need volunteers! We are looking for about 4 people for each date to meet at 2:30pm in the TBH kitchen to prepare the meal. It should take about 2 hours of your time. We are aiming for the 4th Sunday of each month, although dates may change due to holidays. If you are interested in participating in this fun and rewarding endeavor, please email tbh@bethhatfiloh.org. We still need some people for August 28th.
Adult B’nai Mitzvah Group Forming!
Are you Jewish and never had a b’nai mitzvah? Whatever the reason it didn’t happen when you were 13, it is not too late. Having an adult b’nai mitzvah can be a wonderful way to celebrate and affirm one’s Jewish identity. Rabbi Seth is forming an adult b’nai mitzvah cohort to meet monthly over the course of the coming year (beginning in the fall) with the goal of a group ceremony in May of 2023. We will have the opportunity to learn together and plan together based on both individual and group interests, as well as engage with a curriculum developed by Rabbi Seth. All skill levels welcome. If you are interested, please contact rabbi@bethhatfiloh.org to let him know. Again, this is the name collecting phase, we will have an orientation for interested folks in the late summer, so even if you are not sure, reach out!

Taught by Rabbi Seth and other WA State rabbis.
You can join others at TBH in writing postcards for democracy. We are teaming up with the Reform Action Committee and Reclaim Our Vote to write postcards to potential voters in states with at least 20% BIPOC voters. This One Voice One Vote is non-partisan, set up to get people voting. You can order your cards at www.rac.org/postcard.. Please note you are a member of TBH Shoferim, so they will track our cards. Research shows that for every four postcards mailed, One person takes action. In 2020 ROV sent 9 million postcards! For more information, contact Tish, at tishlevee@gmail.com.
