CHESED + TZEDAKAH = MITZVAH Lag B’Omer Personal Hygiene Products Donation Drive Drop off times: Friday, May 13, 5:00-6:00 pm at TBH during Salon dinner pickup Wednesday, May 18, 5:00-6:30 at the Lag B’Omer in Pioneer Park (date corrected from previous weekly) In Person
Sponsored by the TBH Homelessness Task Force Imagine you left Mitzrayim (Egypt) and have been trudging through the desert for 33 days. You come upon an oasis but do not have soap or toothpaste because you left in such a hurry. Or imagine you have been observing the Omer by not cutting your hair and you're ready for a nice shower and haircut.
With this in mind let us help those who do not have enough resources after buying food to purchase personal hygiene products. Things like body wash, shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste, hand soap, toothbrushes, hair combs and brushes. Travel size products are especially appreciated. Please make sure containers are not leaking. The Other Bank which is a program of the Thurston County Food Bank will be the recipient of our Lag B’Omer personal hygiene product drive.
Our May Shabbat Salon@Home (online only) is coming up Friday, March 13th. Our speaker is Nancy Snyder, presenting "Our Stories, Ourselves: Connecting With & Through Stories," an exploration of the power of stories to touch, transform, and connect.
Meal pick-up for those who placed an order will take place prior to services in the TBH parking lot. Registrants will receive a reminder email and time slot tomorrow. Those who didn't order a meal are most welcome at services or the presentation--join for all or part! Services start at 6:00 pm, presentation at approximately 7:15 pm.
If we do not fill our minimum number of seats, we will have to postpone or cancel this event.
COVID Protocols Update!
Attendees must either be fully vaccinated or present a recent negative COVID test (negative antigen test within 24 hours before or a negative PCR test within 48 hours). We will be checking records at the door so please have that on hand.
Online Senior Schmooze Tuesday, May 17, 12:00 pm Online

The Hilltop: A Novel - Assaf Gavron Life in a West Bank settlement from one of Israel's most acclaimed young novelists, skewering the complex, often absurd reality of life in Israel, the West Bank settlers, and the nation's relationship to the United States.
Lag B'Omer Picnic in the Park Wednesday, May 18, 5:00 pm In Person
We will be meeting at Pioneer Park in/by the shelter. Bring your own picnic dinner and Catherine will bring stuff for s'mores! We'll have games for the kids to play as well as the marshmallow roasting. Register at the link below to help with planning for supplies. Catherine could also use a few helpers for events like this. If there is an adult or teen out there who would like to run some games, email her!
Don't forget to bring donations for the personal hygeine products drive (see above)!
We are looking for volunteers to help welcome TBH members and guests to services on Friday evenings for Erev Shabbat. These individuals (often best to have a pair!), are responsible for arriving to Erev Shabbat a bit early and opening the doors, providing directions and assistance as needed. If you are interested in helping out or learning more, email Kayla in the office.
Stars of David Softball Returns! In Person
We are going to be playing on Thursday night which is newly designated as Super Mod coed, which means no tournament players allowed. That should make it more fun. The games will start June 3rd and we are guaranteed 14 games. We plan to have some practice sessions in May before the season starts. Donations are needed to support players who cannot afford the sign-up fee. Contact Jocelyn at 360-481-5889 or jocbrown3@gmail.com for more info.
