Shabbat on Zoom, 7:30 pm Our Shabbat service in the comfort of your own home! Grab your computer and candles, and we'll join together in virtual community. Services will be hosted on Facebook Live and Zoom.
Shabbat Morning Saturday, August 28 Hybrid Talmud Study, 10:00 am Vaccinated participants are invited to gather in person in the TBH social hall. Those unable to come are welcome to join on Zoom! Due to the recent state mandate, masks will be required for in-person participants.
The Talmud is an ancient compendium of Jewish law and lore, and provides the basis upon which biblical interpretation and contemporary Jewish practice rests. Hardly a monolithic document, the Talmud contains investigation and argumentation on all the facets of life. No background required!
High Holiday services begin with Selichot, an observance and service on the Saturday evening prior to Rosh Hashanah. This night serves as an introduction to the themes and liturgy of the holidays as we begin with Havdalah to end Shabbat, then engage in study, song and prayer led by Rabbi Seth.
Check out our webpage dedicated to TBH's celebration of the 5782 High Holidays here. Includes scheduling, links, registrations, and resources!
A few references to our previously scheduled outdoor services for Erev Rosh Hashanah & Yom Kippur have been corrected. Read Rabbi Seth's explanation for our updated plan for the holidays here.

The Brit Hazon is a personal commitment to change for the planet. Each person who signs up brings us one point closer to the $1,000 grand prize. Signing up is easy! Visit Hazon.org/brit and select from 1 of 6 guided paths or lead yourself through the Brit Hazon. Make sure you select Temple Beth Hatfiloh as your community group. And if you join the Brit Hazon Facebook Group, we get a bonus point!
Shmita Hives September 6, 2021 - September 25, 2022
Shmita Hives is a free resource in development available in the Jewish year 5782 to guide local groups in connecting the concepts of Shmita to their community. TBH will host a cohort of the Shmita Hives, a monthly opportunity to study together, practice rest and collective care, access play and embodiment, identify needs in Olympia, and collaborate on social/environmental justice projects.
There will be an opportunity for cross-pollination among groups midway through the year, in the form of an online hive retreat in winter 2021/22. We hope this can be an opportunity for local hives to connect with a broader network, and find inspiration and support to sustain their local projects. If you would like to learn more about Shmita Hives, go to www.TinyURL.com/ShmitaHives. To sign up for the TBH cohort, go to www.TinyURL.com/SignUpSH or email coordinator Alexander Grace at AlexandriaVickery@gmail.com. Individuals and organizations that want to host additional groups can access the free curricula by emailing ShmitaHives@gmail.com.
