SHABBAT SHALOM!
Erev Shabbat Friday, March 26
Erev Shabbat, 7:30 pm Our Shabbat service in the comfort of your own home! Grab your computer and candles, and we'll join together in virtual community. Services will be hosted on Facebook Live and Zoom
The Talmud is an ancient compendium of Jewish law and lore, and provides the basis upon which biblical interpretation and contemporary Jewish practice rests. Hardly a monolithic document, the Talmud contains investigation and argumentation on all the facets of life. No background required!
Community Seder@Home: Zoom Event Sunday, March 28, 6:00 pm
Passover is Coming! We know we said “Next Year in Person” at the end of last year’s Seder, but once again we will be hosting TBH’s Community Passover Seder virtually. Please note that this zoom event requires registration, and is separate from the meal ordering process. Please click the link below to pre-register.
If you ordered a meal, please look for an email in your inbox this coming Friday. Meal pick-up will work similarly to the Salon@Home, occuring prior to the program late afternoon/early evening in the TBH parking lot. Registrants will receive pick-up instructions via email the morning of Friday, March 26.
Counting the Omer: A Week by Week Immersion with Nomy Lamm Starts Monday, March 29, 5:00 pm
Join Kohenet Nomy Lamm for weekly songs, blessings, teachings and reflections throughout the Omer period, extending from Pesach to Shavuot. Immerse yourself in the resonance of each week’s sephirah on the kabbalistic tree of life as we prepare for the revelation of Shavuot, and reflect in community on the experience of cultivating the essences of the sephirot in our lives. Class is on Sundays from 5-6:30, except for the first week which will be on Monday so as not to conflict with seder.
We will be doing a short program to give everyone an opportunity to begin to come back together and get a feel for our new plan for youth education starting (officially) in 5782 (in September). This short program, called Making the Omer Count, will include a collection of Jewish values classes, havdallah and Shabbat meetings and celebrations for Passover, Lag B'Omer and Shavuot. Initially, events will be virtual, but events will gradually be more in person, assuming it is considered safe to do so. Registration is required, email Catherine beitsefer@bethhatfiloh.org to find out more.

Blintzapalooza (trunk-ated), an Interfaith Works benefit Sunday, April 11, 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
If you missed Blintzapalooza last year, you're not alone. This year we're coming back on a limited basis to have some fun and sell frozen Blintzes by the dozen. Because of the limitation on sales this year, the entire net proceeds will be going to support the work of Interfaith Works.
There is only a limited amount left--don't wait to place your order! Place a pre-order now for pick-up in the TBH parking lot on the 11th. We have limited quantities, so order your 1 or 2 dozen blintzes while supplies last. Any blintzes left over after pre-ordering ends will be made available for drive-thru purchase.
Register now for Racial Justice Reading Group Starts April 11 & 12
This fall and winter we held three thoughtful and engaging programs on racial justice, and how we as a Jewish community can take on the work of anti-racism. Thank you to all who participated, and indicated their ideas for next steps in our survey.
In April, we will begin an anti-racism book group to read and discuss “So You Want to Talk About Race” by Ijeoma Oulo. We hope to create safe and brave space to do a deep dive into the themes and topics of the book, to be challenged and to grow from the experience, and to lay the foundation for action.
In order to allow for the richest experience, the group will be structured like this:
The groups will meet weekly for one-hour a week for 18 weeks (one week of introduction and group agreements, and one week for each chapter of the book.)
Each group will be limited in size to 15 individuals in order to allow for the most participation. We invite you to commit to a group even if you can’t make every single gathering, but this will not be a “drop-in” group.
Two timeslots are available: Sunday from 4-5 p.m. or Monday from 7-8 p.m.
Each group will be facilitated.
Books will be available to borrow from TBH.
Please register and join in this work. If more than 15 people are interested in a time slot then we will expand to multiple “sections.” And if you are interested and unable to commit right now, there is the possibility that we can run the group again once the cycle is finished.
Contact Rabbi Seth with any questions. Thanks to Mari Nowitz, Paul Paroff and Heather Rudich for organizing this group for our community!

In Case You Missed It: What’s Next for Jewish Education at TBH?
Earlier in the month, Catherine and Rabbi Seth held an information session about new and exciting changes coming to our educational program. While still in development, these changes will bring flexibility, choice and a new kavannah (intention) to family learning. If you were not able to attend last Sunday, the presentation was recorded, you can watch the (40-minute-long) presentation here: https://youtu.be/MZUEKlxwIgo

Educating for Change: Ensuring Holocaust Remembrance in WA-State Thursday, April 15, 11:00 AM
Holocaust education is history, literature, social studies, psychology, art, and so much more. It is through studying the Holocaust that all people may learn the importance of critical thinking, speaking out against bigotry and indifference, and taking action in the pursuit of justice. Please, join OSPI's STRIDE and OSSI, as well as the Holocaust Center for Humanity, as we engage with learning around Holocaust education and state requirements, bias in society, as well as opportunities to advocate for change and tolerance. We will also hear from the experiences of a survivor in this webinar and have the opportunity for a question and answer session.
