COMING UP AT TBH
New Member Havdalah Saturday, March 20, 7:00 pm
Please join us in celebrating and welcoming our new members who have joined our Temple Beth Hatfiloh community since January 2020. Though the pandemic has shifted our operations, our TBH community has been growing over the last year! This event is open to all.
Community Seder@Home: Registration is OPEN! Sunday, March 28, 6:00 pm Passover is Coming! We know we said “Next Year in Person” at the end of last year’s Seder, but once again we will be hosting TBH’s Community Passover Seder virtually. This year we will have a full Seder meal provided by Nineveh, including a Seder foods add on and an invitation to become a Seder Plate Sponsor!
The meal and the Seder will have two separate registrations (see links below), so you can choose your level of participation. Meal pick-up will work similarly to the Salon@Home, occuring prior to the program in the TBH parking lot.
Counting the Omer: A Week by Week Immersion with Nomy Lamm Starts Monday, March 29, 5:00 pm
Join Kohenet Nomy Lamm for weekly songs, blessings, teachings and reflections throughout the Omer period, extending from Pesach to Shavuot. Immerse yourself in the resonance of each week’s sephirah on the kabbalistic tree of life as we prepare for the revelation of Shavuot, and reflect in community on the experience of cultivating the essences of the sephirot in our lives. Class is on Sundays from 5-6:30, except for the first week which will be on Monday so as not to conflict with seder.
Support the TBH Team for the Thurston Hunger Walk NOW through May 2
A Virtual Walk to equally benefit Thurston County Food Bank, Senior Services for South Sound and The Community Kitchen. 100% of the funds raised go to feeding people of all ages. Hungry neighbors get warm meals delivered to their homes, in encampments, at shelters, and other locations while others pickup food supplies at the main food bank or it's satellites. Help us keep hungry people healthy. All three agencies are serving more people than ever before. Donate to the TBH team here.
SAVE THE DATE: Blintzapalooza (trunk-ated), an Interfaith Works benefit Sunday, April 11, 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
If you missed Blintzapalooza last year, you're not alone. This year we're coming back on a limited basis to have some fun and sell frozen Blintzes by the dozen in the parking lot. Because of the limitation on sales this year, the entire net proceeds will be going to support the work of Interfaith Works, and we will be soliciting extra donations for IW as well. PRE-ORDERS WILL BEGIN NEXT WEEK!
Register now for Racial Justice Reading Group Starts April 11 & 12
This fall and winter we held three thoughtful and engaging programs on racial justice, and how we as a Jewish community can take on the work of anti-racism. Thank you to all who participated, and indicated their ideas for next steps in our survey.
In April, we will begin an anti-racism book group to read and discuss “So You Want to Talk About Race” by Ijeoma Oulo. We hope to create safe and brave space to do a deep dive into the themes and topics of the book, to be challenged and to grow from the experience, and to lay the foundation for action.
In order to allow for the richest experience, the group will be structured like this:
The groups will meet weekly for one-hour a week for 18 weeks (one week of introduction and group agreements, and one week for each chapter of the book.)
Each group will be limited in size to 15 individuals in order to allow for the most participation. We invite you to commit to a group even if you can’t make every single gathering, but this will not be a “drop-in” group.
Two timeslots are available: Sunday from 4-5 p.m. or Monday from 7-8 p.m.
Each group will be facilitated.
Books will be available to borrow from TBH.
Please register and join in this work. If more than 15 people are interested in a time slot then we will expand to multiple “sections.” And if you are interested and unable to commit right now, there is the possibility that we can run the group again once the cycle is finished.
Contact Rabbi Seth with any questions. Thanks to Mari Nowitz, Paul Paroff and Heather Rudich for organizing this group for our community!
SECURING OUR FUTURE
We are 85% of the way to our minimum fundraising threshold! Thank you to those who have already pledge & contributed.
