Workshop: Jewish Perspectives on Reparations
What do Jewish traditions have to say about reparations and economic justice? This workshop will be a first step towards discovering how we as a Jewish community can do reparations work, both individually and collectively.
As a core member of Olympia’s chapter of Showing Up for Racial Justice, Rebekah Erev comes to this work at the request of local Black Leaders. With Mari Nowitz and Rabbi Seth Goldstein, they have begun this work and hope to inspire others from the greater community to join together in working for Racial Justice here in Olympia and beyond.
For transparency, we are three white Jews facilitating this workshop.

Youth Book Club Starts Sunday, December 27, 2:00 pm
We're starting a new youth book club! Led by Reyna Jasmer, our first book, Get a Grip, Vivy Cohen!, written by Sarah Kapit, is about a girl who loves baseball. Her mom thinks that because she is a girl and autistic that it is not a good idea. The book is written as a series of letters and emails between Vivy and a professional ball player as she tries to navigate through challenges at home, at school, and on the field. Our book group will meet once a week to read together, discuss the book, and discuss how our lives relate to the book. Though Reyna will be reading aloud during the meetings, there will be some independent reading expected between meetings. Meetings will be weekly, beginning on Sunday, December 27th at 2pm. TBH will purchase a hardback copy of the book for $18 or check out a copy from the library.
Zoom Information: Register to attend>> **Please note the link from the December Schrift has been updated to require registration.
