(Sept-Nov). Each program meets Sunday afternoons 6 times during the trimester. Age recommendation is included below in program descriptions. Please note this is a suggestion and dependent on the child. Please

Either offered as beginning or intermediate based on registration. Participants will learn letter recognition and sounds as well as decoding, to read and understand standard Shabbat prayers.

Stories, Crafts, Music, and Drama: Jewish Folklife Tradition
5-8 yrs
Explore the deeper meanings of the High Holidays: bite into the sweetness of Rosh Hashana; lookk at different ways to make amends for Yom Kippur. What makes Sukkot fun and mystical? Let's use our senses to explore through song, story, and hands-on projects. There will be food!

Making Shabbat
8-12 yrs
Even though Shabbat comes every veek, the Veshamru prayer teaches us that we will still need to "make Shabbat" -- we still need to activelt make it a part of our regular practice. In this class, we will use crafting and fun to not only learn more about the rituals of Shabbat, buit how to incorporate the themes of rest, mindfulness, and gratitude into our lives.

Living Jewishly: Tzedakah

We will explore the Jewish value of
Tzedakah
through meaningful discussions, hands-on service projects, and field trips. Together, we will learn about the importance of giving time and effort to support our community and create a more just world.
Families are encouraged to participate in the projects along with their children!

Looking Through a Jewish lens
5-7 yrs
Ideally for those new to Darchei Noam, this group will look at pieces of ordinary life and see how they can see the Judaism in it. Participants will explore Judaism through stories, song, art and games.

Come celebrate Jewish culture through food! We will explore various savory and sweet dishes from across the Jewish diaspora and Israel. As we are entering the holiday season, we will discuss why certain foods are served and how they differ in preparation depending on the region. B'Tayavon!

Preparations
6th - 7th grade
6th and 7th graders are invited to meet with Rabbi Seth and larn to navigate the joys and expectations associated with becoming a Jewish adult. This course is offered as a full year program rather than in trimesters (register in the fall only). Class meetings correspond with the 2nd and 4th Saturday morning of the month though the school year except when there are holiday observances and B'nai Mitzvah (
we have quite a few thise year--please attend to support our TBH youth as they go through this milestone!)
