Shabbat Salon: Ira Kitmacher
Friday, June 14, 2024 • 8 Sivan 5784
7:00 PM - 9:00 PMOur June presenter will be local historian and author, and TBH member, Ira Kitmacher. He will be discussing his internationally published book Monsters and Miracles: Horror, Heroes, and the Holocaust. In the book, Ira takes a cinematic view of the Holocaust: one part horror and the other part a hero and superhero story. The forces of good overcome those of evil. He believes there is no way to fully understand the Holocaust and currently rising hatred without understanding these underlying topics.
An Olympia-based historian and published author of books on American and European history and folklore, Ira Wesley Kitmacher has appeared in television programs, documentaries and other media. He is a professor, teaching courses at leading universities. Ira is an experienced and acclaimed speaker and guide. He is a retired senior federal executive, attorney, consultant, and a Historic Commission Commissioner. Ira holds JD, MS and BA degrees. He is a graduate of Harvard University and other leadership programs.
ABOUT OUR SHABBAT SALON

MENU:
- Cucumber Salad
- Garlic Noodles
- Fried veggie egg rolls
- Steamed bok choi with stir fry sauce drizzle
- Vegetable fried rice

Dinner is $18 per person. RSVP is required for the dinner only. You may join us for the presentation without an RSVP.
