Salon@Home: Solomon Cohen

Friday, May 14, 2021 3 Sivan 5781

6:00 PM - 9:00 PM

Join us for our May Shabbat Salon@Home! This month's presenter will be architect Solomon Cohen, presenting "Towards a Kosher Architecture: the Intersection of Jewish practice, art, place, design and function."

Solomon Cohen is a Phoenix-based designer and builder. He received a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from Temple University in Philadelphia, a Master of Architecture from the University of Washington in Seattle, and is currently working towards becoming a licensed architect. He is a Design Associate at Wendell Burnette Architects, Cheif Mensch at his independent research practice studioMISHKAN, and spends every remaining moment of free time renovating a historic Tudor in Central Phoenix with his girlfriend.

Employing a holistic approach, his work focuses on the development of projects from concept through design and fabrication. This method of practice has become a platform for more recent endeavors that have concentrated on the evolution of Jewish traditions, objects, and spaces from their ancient origins to their roles in the contemporary diaspora.

ABOUT SALON@HOME
