Join us for our January Shabbat Salon, featuring guest speaker Khurshida Begum. Khurshida is the Executive Director of ASHHO, SPC. and will be speaking on human trafficking.
Khurshida Begum educates and challenges individuals and organizations to recognize human trafficking and its negative effect on all communities everywhere. Her mission is to urge people to understand this complex issue and to keep our vulnerable people protected from being exploited.
She founded ASHHO, which in Bengali means to “come” join the movement, because all people matter. ASHHO provides comprehensive training to educate and empower communities on human trafficking. Ms. Begum teaches by sharing her personal experience of being a trafficking survivor from Bangladesh. What she learned through her experience, and the strategies she used to overcome her situation, are instructive—both for survivors and those tasked with identifying or assisting them.
ABOUT OUR SHABBAT SALON
We begin with a full Shabbat service at 6:00 pm followed by a catered dinner and speaker in the Social Hall at 7:00 pm. The presentation begins between 7:45 and 8:00 pm, and the event typically concludes at 9:00 pm. You will enjoy a buffet-style vegetarian dinner. Each menu is specially created just for TBH!

- Vegetarian & California rolls
- Vegetable Gyoza(onion, garlic,wheat)
- Matcha cheesecake (Dairy, wheat)
Dinner is $15 per person. RSVP is required for the dinner only. You may join us for the service and presentation without an RSVP.
HOW TO REGISTER
Complete the form below and pay online with a credit card or PayPal account. If you prefer to pay by CHECK OR CASH, please e-mail your dinner RSVP to tbh@bethhatfiloh.org. You may drop your payment in the Mail Box in the TBH foyer by the admin office or you may pay the night of the event.
Once dinner registration has closed, payment for dinner is non-refundable if you have to cancel. However, you may transfer your dinner ticket to another person. If you choose to pay by check/cash, please contact the office to make arrangements.
Important Note: Event Registration is for the dinner ONLY. You may attend the service and/or speaker presentation without having dinner. Registration closes the Wednesday before the Salon at 5:00 pm.
