All Day for 1 Days

April 30 - May 1.  Join (virtually) together for services, learning, yoga, meditation, and discussion with communities from Ashland to Seattle. Featuring Reconstrictionist movement ethicist and Talmudist Dr. Mira Wasserman as Scholar-in-Residence. Shabbaton will include Friday evening and Shabbat morning communal prayer and gathering options as well as keynote late Saturday afternoon with discussion and Havdalah Saturday evening. Let's keep our inter-communal vibe going! 

Shabbaton Schedule
Friday Evening, April 30
7:00 pm: Candlelighting and Service “Pre-neg” get together 
7:15 pm: Services led by PNWRC rabbis  

Dvar Torah: Rabbi Wasserman will share reflections on “Rabbis and Rebels,” looking back toward a moment when ancient sages stepped onto the stage of history to oppose Roman domination.  
Post services: Zoom oneg with Rabbi David Basior 


Saturday, May 1
9:00 am: "Warm Up” options: Yoga, Torah Study, and Meditation
10:00 am: Songful service led by multiple PNWRC rabbis and cantors 
12:00-4:00pm: BREAK
4:00 pm: From the Study House to the Streets with Rabbi Wasserman

We will engage in close study of the talmudic story of Rabbi Shimon bar Yohai. Remembered and revered as a mystic, Rabbi Shimon bar Yohai was also outspoken in addressing the politics of his day. Studying his story and legacy, we will explore what it means to take Talmud study from the study house into the streets.  

6:00-8:00pm: Dinner Break
8:00 pm: Small Group Breakouts with Synagogue Presidents 
9:15pm: Havdalah
