March Is Women's History Month! As special presentation, your Arts & Culture Group will be presenting: "Yoo-Hoo Mrs. Goldberg", the story of Gertrude Berg. This documentary traces the career and success of Gertrude Berg who helped to invent the television sitcom. She not only created the sitcom form, but starred, produced, and wrote all of her own scripts. Debuting in 1949, at the beginning of television, "The  Goldbergs" is the predecessor of such shows as, "I Love Lucy",  "The Honeymooners",  "All In the Family", and "Seinfeld".  On TV, Gertrude Berg's character, Mrs. Goldberg wasn't glamorous, but she made you feel right at home on her weekly show which began with, "Yoo-hoo, Mrs. Goldberg."  (95min). This screening will be followed by a discussion led by our own, Michele Matis Jackman. This event replaces the screening of "Foxtrot" , which be scheduled at a later date.
