TBH sponsors an ongoing conversation on topics related to death and dying, including Jewish rituals and practices, preparing advanced directives and other legal documents, and writing legacy letters. Watch the calendar and newsletters for more information.
A chevra kadisha (sacred burial society) is available to carry out traditional Jewish practices for burial preparation, including ritual washing.

As we prepare to shelter a guest in sanctuary, the Immigrant and Refugee Support Task Group is training volunteers. Volunteers will be staffing the synagogue 24/7, so we need lots of them! Our next volunteer training is scheduled for Sunday, February 24, from 2:00-4:00, in the social hall at TBH. This is a required training, and is for people who have not yet attended a full training, or those who want a refresher. Please contact the office if you have any questions. -

What is a Taste of Mussar A 4-session course developed by the Mussar Institute that introduces you to the thousand year-old body of Jewish teachings and practices that provides distinctively Jewish answers to the questions we all ask about life. Mussar is a practice for the soul on its journey in this lifetime. Course Description We will work on four themes to introduce the Mussar practice. Using readings from the teachings of the Mussar Masters, we will introduce practices which touch the soul, and ask questions for reflection that expand and deepen your life and soul experiences. We will study Humility (Anavah), the foundational trait for all spiritual development and Enthusiasm (Zerizut), the soul trait that motivates us to activate our lives by deeds. You will discover and explore your own unique spiritual curriculum.
