THIS WEEK AT TBH
Mourning our Destructions: A Tisha B’Av Observance Saturday, August 6, 8:00 pm Online Only
Tisha B’Av (“the Ninth of Av”) is traditionally viewed as the saddest day of the Jewish calendar, when we acknowledge and mourn the destruction of the ancient Temples in Jerusalem, along with other calamities throughout Jewish history. We will observe Tisha B’Av on Saturday night, August 6 at 8:00 p.m., beginning with Havdalah and followed by an opportunity for study and reflection on the themes of the day.
Celebrate Shabbat outside in the TBH Parking Lot! We will gather outside TBH for a short service, food, fun and friendship. TBH will provide veggie burgers and salmon burgers, you provide the vegetarian side dish, dessert or drink.
Bat Mitzvah: Dorothy Swartz Saturday, August 20, 10:00 am Hybrid
Please celebrate with us as Dorothy Rose Swartz, daughter of Anne Laderman and Jonathan Swartz, is called as a Bat Mitzvah. Dorothy will be a Freshman at Tumwater High School this fall where she earned a place on the nationally recognized dance team. Dorothy enjoys time with her friends and looks forward to her 8th year at Camp Solomon Schecter in the summer of 2023. Dorothy is fiercely loyal and just. She likes snowboarding and surfing. She is volunteering at a kitten rescue organization this summer as a mitzvah.

Greeters Needed for Erev Shabbat Friday, August 26th AND/OR ongoing!
We are looking for volunteers to help welcome TBH members and guests to services on Friday evenings for Erev Shabbat. These individuals (often best to have a pair!), are responsible for arriving to Erev Shabbat a bit early and opening the doors, providing directions and assistance as needed. We are particularly in need of a volunteer to assist with Friday, August 26th (7:30 service). If you are interested in helping out or learning more, email Kayla in the office.
