THIS WEEK AT TBH
Lag B'Omer Celebration Thursday, April 29, 7:00 pm
Join Mo and Amanda, the co-founders of Jewish brand Gold Herring for a Lag B'Omer workshop. During the one hour Zoom session, participants will explore the themes of gratitude and humility through story, conversation, and mindfulness.
This will be a time to stoke our inner fire, connect with what fuels us, and discover an embodied approach to observing Lag B'Omer and the 49 days of the counting of the Omer. Mo and Amanda will be sharing from The Omer Workbook and other immersive resources they've designed to help deepen people's connection to Jewish wisdom and culture. Whether you've counted the Omer your whole life, or you are just learning about this tradition for the first year, this workshop is for you.
In preparation for this event, if you would like to order your own copy of The Omer Workbook, they are availalble at GoldHerring.com. Mo and Amanda are gifting free digital copies of the workbook to TBH community members. Use this coupon code at checkout: TBHOMER (expires April 30th). Here's a video with a little more info about the workbook. Zoom Information: Join Meeting >> Meeting ID: 849 8944 8153
PNW Reconstructionist Community Shabbaton April 30 - May 1
Join (virtually) together for services, learning, yoga, meditation, and discussion with communities from Ashland to Seattle. Featuring Reconstructionist movement ethicist and Talmudist Dr. Mira Wasserman as Scholar-in-Residence, for a weekend on “The Talmud of Social Justice.”
What is the Talmud and how can it make a difference in contemporary struggles for equity and justice? For long centuries, the classic rabbinic library was in the exclusive purview of talmudic academies, where the focus of study was on the details of Jewish law. Now, a new generation of Talmud students are finding inspiration in the Talmud’s wisdom, storytelling and argumentation. Our study session will offer a taste of how both the content of the Talmud and the practice of studying it convey relevant lessons for the pursuit of social justice today.

Jam & Jelly Drive for Thurston County Food Bank Friday, May 14, 4:00-5:30 pm
Thurston County Food Bank’s Summer Lunch Program needs our help! TCFB’s Summer Lunch program serves on average 300 fresh lunches to children in low-income neighborhoods every week day through out the summer. This year they will expand the program to reach 400-500 children each day! One of the lunches they serve is peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Without the Letter Carriers’ Food Drive the Food Bank has no jelly! Together lets restock the summer lunch shelves with jams and jellies! They need jars or squeeze bottles of Strawberry or Grape Jelly.
Additional food bank donations and checks made out to the Thurston County Food Bank will also be collected. Drop-off in the TBH parking lot will coincide with Salon@Home meal pick ups, but participation in the salon is not required. Can't make it on the 14th? Contact Elie at (360) 357-8160.

Jewish Coalition for Social Justice: Share Our Harvest Fundraiser Sunday, May 2, 5:30 pm
Join us at the Jewish Coalition for Immigrant Justice NW's 3rd annual Share Our Harvest Fundraiser benefiting the Fair Fight Bond Fund. We aim to raise funds in solidarity with the WA Immigrant Solidarity Network (WAISN) to secure the release of immigrants from the NW ICE Processing Center (formerly the NW Detention Center). This is a valuable deportation defense tool, as immigrants have a 70% greater chance of winning their cases if they are bonded out of detention.
Our program includes a keynote address by WA State Attorney General Bob Ferguson, music by Las Cafeteras, the Jewish Coalition’s first Tzedek Award, Rabbi Seth Goldstein's discussion of the Jewish holiday Shavuot, testimony from an asylee formerly in detention, background about the Fair Fight Bond Fund by Coordinator Vanessa Reyes, as well as delicious food from Project Feast available to order.
