Shabbat morning is marked by a variety of observances. Once a month, on the second Saturday, community members observe Shabbat through study (and food). At our monthly Torah study sessions, which begin at 10am, we informally gather, share a meal together and study Jewish texts, either the weekly portion or another topic of interest. On the third Shabbat morning, we assemble again at 10am for Shabbat morning services, marked by song, prayer, reading the Torah and Torah discussion. The services include both traditional and experimental forms of prayer.
We have a new group that has formed called "Jewish with Meaning", which has begun to explore the experience of spirituality within the context of Judaism. Please join us, the group meets (and eats) on the first Shabbat of the month at 10:30 in room 102.
